Looking For Leakers In Ford's Duratec 3.0L Engines
Ford Duratec engines manufactured for the 1999 model year vehicle applications may have a greater tendency to leak. If you have ever experienced the joy of doing a plumbing project you learn very quickly about how the proper amount of heat in the right place will literally leach the solder into the joint to seal the copper pipe properly – or not. It becomes obvious where you failed to do so once you open the main water valve and you suddenly realize you have a leak.

2. Why do we need LRP? Lead (or more accurately, tetraethyl lead) performed two functions in petrol: Firstly, it boosted the octane level of the petrol. This meant that the refineries could reduce the cost by producing relatively low octane

Ford 4.2L Intake Manifold and Timing Cover Gaskets
Ford 4.2L truck and van engines manufactured from 1997 to 2001 have had problems with coolant leaking into the engine oil and into the cylinders. A failed intake manifold gasket or a failed timing cover gasket may cause the coolant to leak into the oil, but coolant leaking into the cylinders is almost always caused by failure of the intake manifold gasket. These problems have been widely reported in several service bulletins over the years.

Why change the Boxster S Bumpers? You fall in love with a Porsche—and start improving, modifying, and changing it until it reflects who you are. It doesn’t matter what kind of perfection you’re chasing. Porsche geekdom is one religion with many denominations: club racing, driver’s education, autocrossing, rallying, touring, preservations, concours, and socialization. If you don’t change it and make it uniquely yours, then you’re not really a Porsche guy, just a temporary owner.

Brief guide to the SAAB 9000
SAAB management first began thinking about the design for an entirely new car in the 1970s but the same financial constraints that precluded development of a new engine delayed any serious design work. Of course, SAAB were not the only manufacturers concerned about the enormous costs associated with the design and introduction of new models and eventually this resulted in a quadripartite alliance of makers in a venture that became known as the Type 4 project.

This manual will, in detail, give the information you will need to convert a 4x4 1996-1999 Nissan Pathfinder from an automatic transmission to a manual transmission. Having a manual transmission in your Pathfinder gives you more control, lower gears, and more power than you would have with an automatic. Other benefits include better gas mileage, lower maintenance cost and reduced electronic dependence.

Brakes are very important components on a car, because they help controlling the vehicle’s speed. Especially on fast racing cars, they need to be of high quality. The car’s kinetic energy is converted into thermal energy in the brakes. This energy conversion is realized by friction due to activation of the brakes. The brake pads are pressed onto the brake disc causing friction.

This SYSTEM CONSISTS OF A CONVENTIONAL solenoid operated nitrous oxide spray nozzle. However the supplemental fuel is not added by a separate fuel spray nozzle, as with most conventional N2O systems. Older conventional systems sprayed supplemental fuel through the intake manifold along with the nitrous oxide, requiring the addition of a extra solenoid, line and fuel source. Most fuel injected engines have intake runners that are designed to run "dry" and will not

The original Pathfinder changed very little on the outside during its life, but was treated to a new dash and interior design in 1994. Whereas the first-generation Pathfinder was a body-on-frame design, the all-new 1996 Pathfinder featured unibody construction. In

1. Rotation of original distributor and magneto should be the same. This may be checked by observing the distributor rotor while cranking the engine with the starter and comparing observed rotation with the arrow on the magneto cap.
2. Wire position numbers on the Vertex cap indicate sequence of firing of the magneto. These are not to be interpreted as the firing order of the engine. Be sure to examine the Vertex cap closely when installing ignition wires in order to maintain proper engine firing order.

Signaling Limitations: Sirens/speakers provide an essential function of an effective audio-visual warning system. However, sirens are only short range secondary devices. The use of a siren/speaker system does not insure that all drivers can or will abide by or react to an emergency warning signal, especially at high rates of speeds or long distances. The operator of the vehicle must never take the right of way for granted and it is the operator’s responsibility to proceed safely.

This kit includes “push to connect” airline fittings. They require the end of the airline to be round, square and cleanly cut to ensure the internal seal will not leak. The airline must only be cut with a sharp razor knife or hose cutter.
PREASSEMBLY OF THE AIR SPRINGS THE UPPER PLATE
1. Place the upper roll plate (with the rounded side towards the air spring) on the top of the air spring (top being the end with the air port). Repeat on the other air spring.
2. Install the air fittings supplied into the inlet ports of the air springs, use thread sealant to prevent air leaks. The air spring ports will be installed towards the center of the vehicle. The passengers side fitting will point towards the front of the vehicle. Do not over tighten the fittings.
THE UPPER BRACKET
3. Place the drivers side upper mounting bracket on top of air spring aligning the two mounting holes as shown in the photo.
Note: The driver side bracket mounts to the air spring through the elongated holes on each side of the air inlet port cutout. The passenger side bracket mounts to the air spring through the elongated holes opposite the air inlet port cutout.
THE LOWER BRACKET
4 Install the clinch stud into the drivers side lower bracket hole, shown in the photo. This is an interference fit into the bracket. Clinch stud not required on the passengers side lower bracket. 2500 model only (3/4 ton trucks) require a 3/8" bolt and nut to be installed in both lower brackets as shown. The bolt head is installed opposite the air spring. The nut will fit inside the roll plate cavity. Tighten the nut securely.

The information in this section is specific to Chevrolet small block and big block engines. You may already know some or all of the comments and tech tips offered. If so, feel free to skip this section. However, if you are new to camshafts and valvetrains, or new to engine building, you may want to read this section before ordering/installing a camshaft and/or valvetrain components into your engine.
This Chevrolet Technical Information covers:
Valve Springs
Stock Chevrolet valve springs are not designed for high-performance camshafts. They simply can’t handle the added lift of a high-performance camshaft. For this reason, we recommend changing springs anytime you change the camshaft in a small block or big block Chevrolet engine.
Rocker Arm Studs
If you’ve installed a high-performance camshaft and must continually adjust the valves, check the rocker arm studs. Stock pressed in studs are notorious for pulling out of the head, especially on small block heads. Place a straight edge across the studs. If any studs are higher than the others, this is a good indication that they are pulling out of the head. Remove the heads and replace the pressed in studs with screw-in studs.
Flat Tappet Camshafts
When you install a flat tappet camshaft in a 1987-present Chevrolet small block engine originally equipped with a hydraulic roller valvetrain, you must also install new lifters, pushrods, and timing chain. These components must be designed to match the flat tappet camshaft. Using any of the old components will shorten the life of your camshaft and valvetrain components, or lead to total camshaft failure.
Roller Camshafts
Because the lobes on roller camshafts are ground without taper, a thrust button is required. Most roller camshafts also require a bronze distributor gear.
Hydraulic Roller Camshafts
This type of camshaft is similar to a solid roller camshaft, except it uses a hydraulic lifter with a roller wheel. Alloy steel billets require aluminum bronze gears and SADI billets require stock distributor gears.

In the GM vehicles listed on back there are no 12 volt accessory wires in the factory radio harness making the installer run an accessory wire to the fuse box or underneath the steering column when installing an aftermarket radio. The XSVI-2103-NAV is designed to provide a 12 volt 10 amp switched accessory output along with the rest of the wires needed to install an aftermarket radio. The R.A.P. (Retained Accessory Power) function is retained by the XSVI-2103-NAV.

Before you begin: Make sure that you have a saw for light cutting of plastic and rubber. A basic hack saw will work fine. Use a blade with very fine teeth to ensure a smooth cut. A knife or razor blade with handle will also be needed for some minor cutting of plastic.
