2010 Ford Fiesta USA Launch

Ford has announced the new Ford Fiesta small car for North America will be produced at the company’s transformed Cuautitlán Assembly Plant beginning in early 2010 and a sporty European hatchback model is being added to the North American lineup alongside the popular sedan.

Transformation of the facility near Mexico City begins this year, as the plant is converted from its current production of F-Series pickups for the Mexican market to small cars for all of North America. The Chihuahua Engine Plant, which builds I-4 engines, also will assemble diesel engines for light- and medium-duty trucks in a variety of global markets. In addition, through a joint venture with Getrag (GFT), Ford will establish a new transmission plant in Guanajuato to support various Ford products. Company officials announced the trio of investments jointly with Mexico President Felipe Calderón Hinojosa.

2007 Pontiac Solstice GXP

The Pontiac Solstice has been the rare ray of sunshine in General Motors' winter of discontent. The Wilmington, Delaware, plant is working three shifts and Saturdays keeping up with Kappa-car demand, now stretching beyond Pontiac and Saturn (Sky) to Opel (GT) and Daewoo (G2X). Andrew Aquilante drove a Solstice to a podium finish in its SCCA showroom stock debut, and slideways champion Rhys Millen is hanging tail in a Red Bull-sponsored Solstice drifter. Tuners, including GM's own Performance Division, are juicing Solstice engine bays with hot V-8s like it's a reincarnated 1932 Ford.

2006 BMW Z4 M Coupe Motorsport Version

The Motorsport Version of the BMW Z4 M Coupé, which has already made a big impression as a production model, is the first two-seater BMW Motorsport offers for customer teams. When it came to the development, BMW faced a huge challenge: The car had to have what is needed to race successfully on the world’s most demanding and spectacular racetrack, the Nürburgring’s famous Nordschleife. The new motorsport coupé can be used by private BMW customer teams in the German Endurance Championship and in the Nürburgring 24-Hour Race.
The power unit of the beefy coupe is a BMW Motorsport designed 3.2-litre in-line 6-cylinder engine delivering about 400bhp, with the suspension area in particular benefiting from the knowledge gained from the successful BMW M3 GTR project.

2009 Citroen Nemo Multispace Euro Edition

Brute supercharger power with 2.3 tons of unladen weight are not that easy to gloss over. With that much weight, every scrap of power and every Newton meter of torque counts. The basic specifications of the 4.2-litre Audi Q7 do indeed make quite an impressive read. 2005 Renault Megane Renaultsport Trophy

2008 Ford Smart Intersection Technology

The smart intersection, established near Ford's Research & Innovation Center in Dearborn, communicates with specially equipped test vehicles to warn drivers of potentially dangerous traffic situations, such as when a vehicle is about to run through a red light. The intersection is outfitted with technology that can monitor traffic signal status, GPS data and digital maps to assess potential hazards, and then transmit the information to vehicles.

Once the in-vehicle computer receives data indicating a potential hazard, it can instantly warn drivers through visual and audio alerts.

2007 Land Rover Discovery 3 as Top 4x4

The Land Rover Discovery 3 has been named Britain's most practical 4x4 in a test conducted by Planet 4x4 Magazine.

2008 Volvo Green Corridors

The Volvo Group is initiating co-operation within the Swedish government's logistics forum and with the authorities to realise the EU Commission's concept regarding environmentally sound goods transport in ‘green corridors'. The goal is to reduce the impact on the environment while simultaneously increasing efficiency and safety on highways through specially adapted transport stretches for heavy traffic.

The EU Commission estimates that goods transports in Europe will have increased by 50% between 2000 and 2020. These rising volumes will require investments in all transport modes, including railways and seaborne traffic.

2006 BMW M6

Like its predecessor - the legendary 1985 M635CSi – the new M6 resets the sports GT benchmark, with supercar performance, dispatching the zero to 62mph sprint in 4.6 seconds and achieving a limited top speed of 155mph. If derestricted, the M6 would be capable of a 200mph+ top speed. During tests at the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit, the new M6 regularly clocked eight minutes lap times. Audi JBR ULTRA-LITE Flywheel/Clutch/TOB Instruction Sheet

Please read this instruction sheet in its entirety before starting this process.
1. Remove the stock flywheel and clutch from the engine.
2. Now might be a good time to check and/or change the rear crank seal.
3. Remove the stock TOB and bobbin from the stock clutch arm.
4. With a small screwdriver, remove the clips that hold the TOB to the plastic hub.
5. Save the plastic hub as it will be re-used. Discard the stock TOB and the clips.
6. There are no modifications required to the plastic hub. (must be cleaned)
7. Install the new TOB and spacer supplied onto the stock plastic hub. A press works well or you can press the two parts together in a vise.

2004 Chrysler ME Four-Twelve Concept

2004 Chrysler ME4-12 conceptThe Chrysler ME Four-Twelve is definitely not what you'd expect from the struggling Detroit automaker. The name says it all, albeit in shorthand. This is a mid-engine, quad turbo, twelve-cylinder supercar that could make Ferrari fans hide in shame.

Chrysler claims this knife-edged two-seater makes an incredible 850 horsepower at 5750 rpm (a new benchmark at 142 hp per liter). This translates into the type of numbers that left even the most hard-to-please members of the media momentarily breathless: 0-60 acceleration in 2.9 seconds, 0-100 in 6.2 seconds, and the quarter mile in about 10.6 seconds at 142 mph. Top speed is an equally awe-inspiring, although theoretical, 248 mph (400 km/h).

2007 BMW 335i Coupe

MSA is announcing several changes to the instructions for the MMR Firehawk, MMR 1/4 Turn, and BMR Air Masks as they relate to the air mask flow test frequency and the maintenance of the Audi-Larm Audible Alarm. The major changes are as follows:
• The flow test frequency for all air masks is changed to every year in accordance with the NFPA 1852 requirement for an annual flow test.
• A new Audi-Larm Tester was developed and must be used to evaluate the Audi-Larm at each flow test.
• Prior to testing the Audi-Larm, all actions required by previously issued field notices must be verified as completed.

2008 Jaguar XF Wins Design of the Year Award

2008 Audi R8 Launches all-LED Headlights

Audi became the first manufacturer to feature peripheral white LEDs as daytime running lights, first on the Audi A8 W12 in 2004 and then on the Audi S6, Audi R8 and Audi A5/S5 from 2006.

Audi is now premiering the first and only headlight unit in the world to deploy LEDs for all of the front lighting functions. Apart from the daytime running lights, these functions comprise the turn signals and the dipped beam and main beam headlights. Various groups of LEDs, known as arrays, produce the correct light distribution and brightness. Each headlight unit has a total of 54 LED light sources.

Remove the back seats. Pull the seats out of the locking. Remove the cover of the B-post. Pull the cover beginning from the ground up to the roof. Pull the lower cover in direction of the roof. It is fixed on the ground.

The company will design and manufacture a unique electric drive-train platform to power a wide range of large vehicles, which will also have the flexibility to incorporate emerging technologies. Annual vehicle production, which will include the world’s first zero emission, electrically powered Range Rover, will be in tens of thousands and will create around 250 new technology and manufacturing jobs.

2008 Audi A3 125hp

A new, ultra-modern four-cylinder TFSI engine with a displacement of 1.4 litres and turbocharger can now be ordered for the Audi A3 and A3 Sportback. The 1.4 TFSI engine delivers 92 kW (125 bhp) at 5,000 rpm. Its maximum torque of 200 Nm is available across an unusually wide speed range of 1,500 to 4,000 rpm.

Audi’s engineers have long been demonstrating the effectiveness of FSI technology in combination with turbocharging both on the world’s racetracks and on the road. The prime example of this is the “Engine of the Year” award with which a jury of experts crowned the 2.0 TFSI in 2007 for the third time in succession.

Audi TT Coupe (U.S. Version) Fog Light Modification for Daytime Running Light Operation

The U.S. Version of the Audi TT Coupe (and Roadster) does not come factory equipped with daytime running light capability. Daytime running lights being headlamps or similar, smaller lamps that are on whenever the ignition of the car is on. These lamps then also remain on when the parking lights and the headlights are turned on. I feel daytime running lights add to the safety level and overall appearance of any car. You’re more visible to pedestrians and other motorists and the car looks better in the frontal view. So, the challenge was to determine the best way to add daytime running lights to the TT Coupe. Since the TT is equipped with fog lights that are built in to the headlight cluster the plan was to try to modify the circuitry controlling the fog lights to make them behave like daytime running lights. However, I also needed to retain the normal on/off fog light operation during use of the headlights.

2008 Chrysler 300C SRT Diesel

The Chrysler 300C SRT® Design Group is an all-new look available for the 300C Sedan and Touring, adapting the styling cues from the high-performance SRT8 models and retaining the sensibility of the 3.0L CRD engine. This package will make its world debut at the 78th International Motor Show in Geneva. This comes just months after evolutionary design enhancements were made to the 300C, further increasing the packages available to customers.

2009 Mercedes BlueTEC Euro Debut

BlueTEC is a technology developed by Mercedes-Benz for effective reduction of diesel vehicle emissions, especially nitrogen oxides. This is the only exhaust gas constituent which has inherently higher levels in diesel engines than in gasoline engines. AdBlue®, a harmless, water-based urea solution, is injected into the exhaust flow, reducing up to 80 percent of the nitrogen oxides to harmless nitrogen and water in the downstream SCR catalytic converter. Moreover, the GL 350 BlueTEC 4MATIC, ML 350 BlueTEC 4MATIC and R 350 BlueTEC 4MATIC already meet the exhaust limits of the EU-6 Standard, which will become effective from 2014.

2006 BMW 330i

2008 Audi A5 TDI Engine Option

Audi FSI and TDI engines join the all new A5 coupé range this week with additional refinements that boost output while at the same time maximising efficiency.

The 3.2-litre V6 FSI petrol is a development of the much praised unit powering A4, A6 and A8 models, its power increased in the A5 from 256PS to 265PS and its 330Nm torque peak delivered lower down the range at 3,000rpm, and across a wider band stretching to 5,000rpm. The A5 3.2 FSI takes a minimum of 6.6 seconds to reach 62mph from rest, can reach an electronically limited maximum speed of 155mph and yet is also capable of returning up to 31.7mpg.

Like the all-new 325i Sedan, the Sports Wagon will be powered by BMW's new, advanced N52 3.0 liter 6-cylinder engine. This dynamic powerplant retains the unique smoothness and sound character of BMW's inline 6-cylinder format while offering more power, greater torque, even more refined delivery of power, and new technology. This includes magnesium/aluminum composite engine construction, and BMW's patented Valvetronic variable valve lift system, which replaces the conventional throttle for more efficient engine breathing and improved responsiveness. 2007 ABT Audi S3

Purely dynamic is the fastest member of the A3 family. The performance data of the serial model already convinces. But when Abt Sportsline modifies the S3, it results in a premium sports car which is suited perfectly for the daily use but also shows distinctive racing genes.

After the power treatment by the famous specialist for vehicles of the Volkswagen group, the 2.0 TFSI engine in the Abt S3 achieves 310 hp (228 kW) and overpowers his colleague from Ingolstadt by 45 hp (33kW). The all-new Chrysler ecoVoyager’s wheels are driven by an electric motor, with power primarily supplied by a lithium-ion battery pack capable of satisfying a daily commute of less than 64 kilometres.

The electric motor develops 200 kilowatts (272 horsepower DIN), enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in less than nine seconds. A regenerative braking system captures energy that would normally be lost and returns it to the battery, making the Chrysler ecoVoyager concept a very efficient and spacious vehicle.
