Stratmosphere HyperBoost Valve (Audi S4) Installation Instructions

12:54 AM by onesecond ·
Step 1- Remove motor cover
This is the small triangular cover in the front of the engine where the dipstick is located (figure 1). Just twist the two screws 90 degrees counterclockwise. Then lift up the cover. The cover fits onto a rubber round mount at the point on the “triangle” as well. It’s just pressed on there.
Step 2-Remove hoses from OEM valves
The clamps for the top “nipple” and the side large nipple are attached with single-use clamps (sometimes, check your car). You will have to use needle-nose or tin snips to remove the single-use clamps. You will SAVE the OEM “S” shaped vacuum hose from the passenger side valve (Figure 4). The fabric covered vacuum hose on the driver’s side will be replaced with the supplied rubber hose. In figures 2&3 you can see where the OEM diverter valves are located.
Take note of the locations of the clamps. You can see the “side” hose location in figure 2 and the “bottom” hose location in figure 3. Doing one valve at a time. The bottom clamp might be the adjustable type so that you can just loosen with a screwdriver. Again, the side clamp you might have to use pliers/tin snips and a screwdriver to get off. After the clamps are loose/cut (figure 4), remove the small hose from the small nipple and the metal “T” section (figure 4). Second remove the side nozzle from the side hose. Take care with this. It may be a bit stuck but wiggle with patience. Lastly pull up and wiggle to get the OEM valves out of the bottom hose. DO NOT DROP ANY ITEMS INTO YOUR OPEN HOSES!
Step 3- Install your gleaming HyperBoost valves!
First take some motor oil or vegetable oil and lightly coat the nozzles of the HyperBoost valve. This will help you to install the valve more easily. The HyperBoost valve installs in the OEM orientation. Take the new clamps (if needed) and place them over the OEM hoses. Open the clamps up enough to fit loosely on the hoses. First slide the bottom nipple into the horizontal hose (figure 5). Then slide the side nozzle of the HyperBoost valve into the bottom/vertical hose (figure 6), tighten the clamps snug (not too much!). Now run the new vacuum hose (supplied) from the driver’s side HyperBoost valve to the “T” section (figure 7). Use the supplied tie wraps to secure the hose as shown in figure 8. Now reconnect the OEM “S” shaped hose to the HyperBoost valve on the passenger side and the “T” section (you may choose to trim some of the ends of this hose for a better fit). Secure with the supplied nylon tie wraps (figure 9). The finished product on your S4 is shown in figure 10 with all new valves, hose, clamps and nylon ties in place.
