TransTec rebuild kits for the Chrysler 41TE (A-604) now contain the low/ reverse piston housing. This housing is stamped steel and is susceptible to distortion, especially around the screw holes. Therefore, the housing should always be replaced during a rebuild. In fact, ATRA recommends using a new housing in their recent technical bulletin #231.

Before removing the factory alternator you must complete the wire check as noted.
Wire Check: The original alternator is externally regulated by the computer. The original plug has two wires, one will have 12.6 volts with the key turned on and the other is the regulation wire. You will have to determine what the wires are conncted to do. This process is as follows: With the vehicle in park and the parking break on, start the vehicle. Using a volt meter, test each of the alternator plug wires. The wire that has the highest voltage is the main power for the voltage regulation. Mark or remember which wire is which for item #5 below.

Chrysler’s Easy-Out Roller seat base attachments engage recessed floor strikers (supports). Two release handles are located at the rear of the seat base. Squeezing the handles and rotating the handles downward disengages the attachments and deploys the wheels. A lock indicator button pops up when the seat is unlocked.
Squeezing the handles and rotating the handles upward engages the attachments. The indicator button returns into the handle when the attachment mechanism is in the fully engaged position (seat base attachments are fully Squeeze and push down on handle to disengage seat (two handles per seat).

1) Secure the rear wheels with blocks and jack the front up. Support the front of the vehicle with jack stands on the frame. Observe the stock sway bar orientation and position for reference.
Note: If you are using a 4 post lift or alignment rack, you do not have to jack the front up.
2) Remove the heat shields that cover the subframe mounts using a 10mm wrench or socket.
3) Remove the subframe mounts by unbolting 2 bolts per mount using a 15mm socket. The Sway bar should be hanging by it’s endlinks at this point. Retain all hardware and brackets for reinstallation.

This Adapter Plate is designed to cover Flexplate only. To protect the Bellhousing area we suggest using the CSR Shield #834. Tech Officials will require a transmission shield. Care must be taken to ensure that this bolt does not Interfere with the Starter Bolt (binding can occur). Starter mountings can vary on DRC Engines. Contact us for Starter Reduction Adaptor Blocks.

1) Remove the high beam bulb and turn signal bulbs, this allows the inside of the lamp to heat at the same rate as the outside of the lamp.
-First, test fit the headlight in the cool oven. The lamp should be situated in the center of the oven, away from the heating element. You can use a cookie sheet to shield the light from direct heat.
-Preheat the oven to 235 degrees, once pre-heated insert the lamp and set a timer for 20 Minutes.

A new concept coupe to be shown at the Detroit auto show in January will take the name of Challenger. The long-expected two-door will take on the Ford Mustang directly with a chassis derived from Chrysler's 300C/Magnum twins, along with a 425-hp version of the HEMI V-8 in the most thrilling versions. Chrysler is expected to show the car as a concept at the show, but insiders suggest the vehicle will be in production as early as 2009 on a new version of the 300C platform. Chrysler has only offered this official sketch of the concept prior to the January auto show debut, but these spy shots were taken last week as the vehicle was prepared for its auto-show debut.

Your Chrysler 727 / 904 Pro Brake valvebody is designed to have a reverse lockout safety feature. To engage reverse, the shifter must be placed in reverse and the Trans brake switch must be depressed simultaneously. Install a good bolt-in sprag! If necessary, refer to a transmission manual for detailed instructions on disassembly and reassembly. The transmission should be completely disassembled, and thoroughly cleaned.
