Small Block Chrysler 727 to GM DRCE Engine Adaptor Installation

This Adapter Plate is designed to cover Flexplate only. To protect the Bellhousing area we suggest using the CSR Shield #834. Tech Officials will require a transmission shield. Care must be taken to ensure that this bolt does not Interfere with the Starter Bolt (binding can occur). Starter mountings can vary on DRC Engines. Contact us for Starter Reduction Adaptor Blocks.

Step 1: Using the supplied hardware, (6 – 3/8” x 1” Socket Head Cap Screws) affix the adaptor plate to the back-side of the engine block. NOTE: Bolt length is based on a ΕΎ” Rear Engine Plate. Attach the SFI Mounting Plate and Decal with the case mounting bolt as indicated in Fig 1.
Step 2: Your transmission case will need to be modified to allow access to the torque converter. Cut the transmission case as per the dimensions shown in Fig 2.
NOTE*
Engine Adapter must fit flush to block prior to final installation. Factory engine dowels and or mounting bolts should be checked for proper fit and trimmed/modified as necessary
Step 3: A second modification to your transmission case is necessary to accept the 3/8” x 2 1/2” Socket Head Cap Screw by enlarging the existing mounting hole in an oblong manner in order to line up with the Adaptor Plate hole. This bolt goes through the transmission case and adaptor plate into the engine block.
