BD Power Intimidator Duramax 6.6L Installation Instructions

Pre-Installation
The user must ensure that the factory "STOCK" tune is in the vehicle's PCM before installing a modified program over top of it. Serious engine damage will occur if the tune is installed over a non-factory/aftermarket performance tune. The Intimidator also cannot be used in conjunction with other tuning devices. Do not try to install the Intimidator if the battery voltage is low.
If you are taking your truck to a dealer to have diagnostic work or any repairs done, it is highly recommended to re-load your truck’s stock program (that was loaded into the Intimidator on your first power tune) back into the ECM. Quite frequently, during diagnosis, the dealer may flash your computer to the newest program without your knowledge, overwriting the Intimidator’s power tune. This will present a problem when you try to reload the Intimidator, as your tuner would have your trucks original ECM program loaded. In this case, the Intimidator will have to be sent back to BD to be re-flashed, at a nominal charge.
Installation Removing Fuses
2001-02 LB7 Models
On 2001-02 models, remove the fuses from the fuse box located on the drivers’ side of the cab, as shown in picture. On 03 Models remove the fuses under the hood, also shown in picture. Note with all the proper fuses removed, the On-Star system should be disabled (Status light off).
Programming The Intimidator
Locate the OBD 2 port on your vehicle and connect the Intimidator. The LCD on the tuner should light up and begin the startup process. It will then ask you to turn the key to the ON position.
