Long Tube Header Installation For Chevrolet Camaro 6.2L V8 PN 17249

This Borla Performance Stainless Steel Long Tube Header System (Part Number 17249) has been designed for the Chevrolet Camaro equipped with a 6.2L V-8 engine with an automatic or manual transmission.
Original Manifold System Removal
1. Disconnect the battery from the vehicle as recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
2. Remove the oil filler cap and the under hood engine cover.
3. Remove the ignition leads from the engine.
4. Remove the bolt that retains the dip stick tube and remove the dip stick assembly.
5. Remove (6) nuts securing the exhaust to the manifold and (2) nuts securing the cat-pipe. NOTE: If the stud comes out with the nut, the nut must be run off the stud and the stud refitted to the exhaust flange prior to fitting the headers to the vehicle.
6. Remove the remaining manifold retaining bolts and remove and discard the manifold.
7. Position the heat-shield onto the replacement header and ensure the fixing points align and the heat-shield does not contact the headers at any other point. Remove the heat-shield.
8. Repeat procedure to remove other exhaust manifold.

Header System Installation
1. Position the replacement exhaust gasket on the exhaust flange.
2. Position the header against the engine, once in position place the exhaust manifold gasket between the header and the engine block. Loosely fit the replacement manifold bolts and tighten to (first stage) 15N·m (11 lb ft) and then to 20N·m (15 lb ft). IMPORTANT: Ensure manifold gasket is correctly orientated by reading the information pressed into the part.
3. Reinstall the dipstick assembly and tighten to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
4. Carefully maneuver the heat shield into position and use the bolts to fix in position, tighten to 10N·m (7.5 lb ft) Recheck heat shield clearances.
5. Connect O2 sensor as shown.
6. Repeat for other header installation.
