Keep adhesive surface free of dirt and grease. Only cut back adhesive surface shortly before installation. Do not prime or use a cleaning solution on the adhesive surface. Make sure there is a slight overlap at adhesive joining points, otherwise there may be leaks in these areas.
Bonded panel must be inserted in the vehicle within a maximum of 10 minutes after start of application, otherwise the bonding properties of adhesive sealant material will be impaired. Observe minimum curing times for bonded panel Minimum curing times for bonded sunroof panel.
1 - Adhesive bead for panel
Cut back only just before installing a new panel.
Apply new adhesive onto residual bead on body.
2 - Cover 1
Note:
It is not possible to remove the panel - 1 - without destroying it.
To remove panel 1, use 2 x pull handle V.A.G 1351/1 and cutting wire 357 853 999 A.
Remove the molding with a sharp carpet knife at the front of the panel and on both sides - 1 - .
Move the panel - 2 - all the way to the back.
Place the cutting wire between the glass panel - 1 - and the sunroof module.
Seal the cutting area on the top of the roof frame with tape to protect the paint.
Secure the ends of the wire into the pull handles and the cut the adhesive completely through all around the vehicle.
When installing, panel - 2 - must be installed and closed.
Clean new panel in adhesion area and prime.
Apply adhesive onto residual adhesive bead.
Insert panel into roof cutout.
Align panel and press it into roof cutout to stop.
Secure panel in roof cutout with adhesive tape.
