The GMRC-03 is designed to be used in Cadillac’s that do not have Onstar or amplified systems. It will retain the warning chimes that are lost when the factory radio is removed. The GMRC-03 will also provide a 12 volt switched accessory wire for proper radio operation. *Note: The GMRC-03 can be used in Cadillac’s that come with a factory amplifier; however the factory amplifier must be bypassed and the speaker wires on the GMRC-03 must not be used. Running new wires to the speakers is recommended. If the Cadillac also has Onstar, that feature will be lost.
Installing
1. With all connections completed to the aftermarket radio, plug the 32 pin harness into the vehicles wiring harness.
*Note: Some minor modifications may be necessary to the sub dash cavity to accommodate the GMRC-03.
2. Cycle the key by turning the ignition on then back off, then on again to test the radio.
Testing
1. Turn the ignition on if not already, and then turn the radio on to verify that the radio works. Check balance and fader controls for proper operation.
2. Now close all the doors with the radio on and turn the key off. The radio should be still on until one of the doors is opened.
