2004-05 Chevy Colorado Prerunner Rear Bumper Installation

This kit should only be installed on a vehicle that is in good mechanical condition. Before installing the kit, replace worn or corroded parts. If the vehicle is suspected to have been in a collision or abused, DO NOT install the kit. The components in this kit do not eliminate weaknesses that may exist in the original equipment components.

Remove rear bumper.
The following instructions are for the removal of the stock rear bumper. If the 3” body lift has previously been installed, the bumper brackets will look different but the removal is the same. If installing this kit at the same time as the body lift, the Prerunner rear bumper brackets will be used in place of the brackets provided with the body lift.
a. Driver side: Remove wire harness from clip and rear bumper bracket.
b. Remove license plate light wire harness from wire harness connector on rear bumper
c. Remove trailer tow wire harness clip from bumper.
d. Driver Side: Remove five bolts from bumper bracket, frame and bumper.
e. Driver Side: Remove cover plate from top of rear bumper by squeezing four plastic tabs.
