Small is big in the U.S. auto industry – and Ford is working to make small cars even bigger among customers with nine personalized 2008 Ford Focus models set to roll out at this month’s Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show.

“The small car market is now the largest vehicle segment in the country with more than 2.7 million sales annually,” says Al Giombetti, executive director of Ford's Customer Service division. “We want to signal that we have what it takes to help small-car buyers make a big statement in their vehicles. That’s why we’re offering a full spectrum of personalization options ranging from full-body kits and wheels to audio systems and racing parts for under the hood.”

The aftermarket industry itself grows larger every year, with revenues expected to reach $40 billion dollars for 2007. Along with the new Focus, the Ford Mustang – one of the industry’s most popular vehicles in the aftermarket – also will live large at SEMA. Ford Fusion and the Lincoln MKZ will round out the company’s car lineup in Las Vegas. This year’s featured cars include:

The deep blue paint sets off the Kyowa Design 18-inch tires wrapped in Toyo Proxes rubber. The 2.0-liter I-4 sports a Brutus Stage 3 Production Turbo and Ford Racing exhaust. The power is driven to the wheels through a Torsen differential, 4.06:1 ring and pinion, F2 Flywheel and ACT clutch. The suspension features F2 Brutus front and rear sway bars, Vortland coil overs and a Ford Racing SVT brake kit.
