BEFORE YOU BEGIN THE REMOVAL OR INSTALLATION, READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS THOROUGHLY! THE WARRANTY WILL BE VOID IF INSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT FOLLOWED EXACTLY. DO NOT WORK UNDER CAR UNDER A VEHICLE SUPPORTED BY A JACK. ALWAYS SUPPORT THE VEHICLE ON SAFETY STANDS.
1. Raise and support vehicle, allowing suspension to hang free.
2. Remove the wheel.
3. Disconnect the shock absorber electrical connector.
4. Support the lower control arm with a jack stand or screw jack in order to relieve the spring load.
5. Remove the lower shock absorber nut(s) and bolt(s).
6. Remove the upper mounting nut(s). On some models, the upper shock mounting nuts are located in the trunk behind the trim cover.
7. Remove the shock from the vehicle. On some models, you may have to compress the shock by hand to remove from the mounting.
NOTE: THE ELECTRONIC DAMPENER SOLENOID SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE OLD STRUT, AND THEN SECURED TO THE VEHICLE WITH A TIE STRAP. THIS WILL NEGATE THE NEED FOR ANY PROCEDURE TO DISARM ALARM CODES. IF THE SOLENOID IS DAMAGED OR CANNOT BE REMOVED, USE THE RESISTORS SENT WITH THE CONVERSION KIT.
