Re-Synchronisation of Ford Transit Remote Control

The 2006.5 model year Ford Transit has an ignition key integrated with the remote control, similar in style to those found on the saloon car range. It is charged each time the key is inserted in the ignition and can be identified by its blue colour. The remote central locking can be programmed by the Ford dealer to operate in several ways. The default setting is auto relock, locking on drive off and warning beep if a door is not properly shut.
They are shipped from the factory in ‘transit’ mode where the remote key will not work. This is shown by the word ‘transit’ being displayed on the facia panel. To get the vehicle out of its shipping mode, switch the ignition on, press the brake pedal 5 or 6 times then press the hazard switch for one flash. The remote should then work.
I have found some remotes that suddenly stop working. To re-synchronise them open the glovebox, press the catches in each side and drop it down to reveal the fuse box. Press the to cathes at the top of the fuse box outwards and hinge the fuse box down. Remove the 20 amp fuse shown below (3rd along from the right on the bottom L bank of fuses) Wait 30 seconds and re-insert. Press the remote and all should be well.
