You have just purchased the finest short throw shifter available for the 1989-1996 Chevrolet Corvette (including the ZR-1) with the ZF 6-Speed transmission. The shifter uses the stock Corvette knob, or any replacement knob with a 9/16-18 thread. Anyone with moderate me- chanical ability and a few hand tools can install this B&M Short Throw Shifter. Typical installation time is two hours (If you are not familiar with working on the Corvette, it is recommended that you consult the factory service manual before you continue). NOTE: We suggest the vehicle be allowed to cool for an hour or two before you begin since you will be working around the exhaust system. The vehicle should be raised so there is at least 2 feet ground clearance for ease of installation and safety. Section I (1989): (Note: The knob removal requires spe- neath.
