Position truck on a flat surface and lift vehicle by the frame so that the front wheels are off the ground. Use a minimum 3 ton jack stands and place under frame for safety or a (2) two post lift if available. Make sure that the emergency brake is on and the rear wheels are blocked to prevent a rollout.
) Remove the front wheels. Unbolt the 16mm upper sway bar end link nut and remove bushing and plate. Unbolt the 21mm tie rod nut and separate the tie rod from the steering knuckle. Remove the lower strut mounting nut only. Remove the three upper 15mm upper strut mounting nut.
) Mark the position of the alignment cams on the lower control arm with a marker. Unhook the ABS line from the brake line.
) Remove the 24mm lower control arm nuts and bolts. Use a pry bar to pull the lower control arm out of the frame pockets. Remove the lower strut mounting bolt, then remove the strut.
) Install ReadyLift strut extension using the factory hardware. Torques to factory specs.
) Install strut back into the factory position. (The strut will install 180 degrees from the position that it was removed.) Loosely attach the one of the upper strut mounting nuts. Insert lower strut mounting bolt. Use a jack to raise the lower control arm back into the frame pockets. Align the upper end link back into the sway bar.
) Reinstall the lower control arm bolts, cams, and nuts, but do not tighten. Install the tie rod back onto the knuckle and torque to factory specs. Install the upper sway bar end link bushing, plate, and nut. Torque to factory specs. Tighten the three 14mm upper strut mounting nuts, and the 24mm lower strut mounting nut. Torque to factory specs. Repeat steps 1-6 on opposite side. Reinstall the front wheels and set vehicle on the ground. At this time align the cams with your markings and tighten the lower control arm bolts to factory specs. Be sure to double check that all fasteners are torqued to factory specs.
