• The driver’s seat moves side to side (left or right),
ACTION:

NOTE: This is the only authorized repair for this incident (i.e. click noise or side to side movement when turning).
SERVICE PROCEDURE
NOTE: Steps a, b and c below only apply to vehicles equipped with front side (SRS) air bags.
a. Write down all radio station presets.
b. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
c. Wait at least 3 minutes after the negative battery cable is disconnected before removing the driver’s seat.
1. Remove the driver’s seat from the vehicle.
• Refer to the Service Manual (ESM), section SE, for seat removal instructions.
2. Set the seat on its back on a clean working surface.
3. Locate the two ends of the seat thigh support adjuster
NOTE:
• The special washers (see Parts Information) have a cut-out.
• This cut-out allows installation of the washer by sliding it between the seat thigh support adjuster and the seat sliding & reclining device—inner and outer
4. Use needle-nose pliers to hold and install the special washers at the inner and outer ends of the seat thigh support adjuster.
• Slide the washer between the seat thigh support adjuster and the sliding & reclining device.
NOTE: It may be helpful to pull the support adjuster and sliding & reclining device away from each other to make space for the washer to slide in.
• Slide the washer in until it is completely installed
NOTE:
• Illustration of washer shown in Figure 3 and 4 is for the outer (left) side of the seat.
• Make sure to install a washer on the inner (right) side also.
5 Reinstall the seat. Make sure:
• All wire harnesses are correctly routed to prevent pinching and chaffing.
• The four seat mounting bolts are tightened to: 32 - 42 ft-lbs.
6. Reconnect the negative battery cable (if you disconnected it in step b).
7. Reprogram the radio presets and reset the clock (if you disconnected the battery in step b).
