00-05 Audi 2.7T Engines A.W.E. Tuning DV1 Diverter Valves Installation Instructions

Removal of stock valves:
Removal of the stock diverter valves requires removal of decorative engine cover with the “V6 BITURBO” badging. Lift off the cover after twisting X-shaped plastic fasteners 90 degrees with a flat blade screw driver. Valve replacement is much easier done on a cool engine.

The S4, A6, and allroad 2.7T engine uses two diverter valves, located beneath the front cover (see figure 1).
Next, remove the small vacuum hose that attaches to the stock valves. This is easily done by grabbing the hose near the valve body and wiggling it off by hand or with the tip of the screwdriver, with the clamp intact. Once each hose is wiggled free, slip the small crimp clamp off and discard. You’ll be using the small screw clamps supplied with the A.W.E. Tuning valves during install.

Loosen the two remaining hose clamps holding each stock valve in the boost tubes with a flat blade screw driver. Remove the stock diverter valves. Just wiggle each one free from the boost hoses. Slipping a flat head screwdriver between the hose ends and valve body can help free a stubborn valve. While the valve is out of the boost hoses, make sure no foreign objects fall into the hose holes.

Installation of A.W.E. Tuning DV1 Diverter Valves:
The A.W.E. Tuning valves install just like stock. It is easier to install the valve into the lower hose first, and then attach the upper hose. Lightly lubricating the valve outlets with some motor oil will make the job go smoother. Tighten the two medium hose clamps down holding the A.W.E. Tuning valve in the boost hoses. Use the supplied replacement screw type hose clamps for the vacuum fittings and snug down tightly. Reinstall engine cover, and you are finished.
