2002-04 Honda CR-V BX2232 Baseplate Installation

Please read BOTH these Installation Instructions and the General Instructions before attempting to install or operate this equipment.
Many Blue Ox® Baseplates are designed to use existing holes and hardware to mount the baseplate to the towed vehicle. Even though bolts are there, do not assume they are adequate for baseplate mounting. Always use hardware supplied in the hardware kit and existing hardware specified in the Baseplate Installation Instructions.
Removable Tabs: Due to the design of the removable tabs, the RangeFinder II tow bar can not be used. Adapters, except for the BX8833 and the BX88151, can not be used with this baseplate.
Instructions: The front fascia and horn bracket are removed and reinstalled for the baseplate installation. Drilling is required. The back of the fascia may require trimming. The bumper brace on the passenger’s side and bumper is removed. Metal bumper will not be reinstalled. The dimensional variations between otherwise identical vehicles can be considerable. While the baseplate was designed for easy installation, it may be necessary to tailor the baseplate slightly to compensate for auto manufacturer’s tolerances. These minor adjustments may include filing a hole slightly, bending electrical rods, and/ or bending end plates. The BX8869 Bulb and Socket Wiring Kit is available for this vehicle.
Installation Instructions:
1. Using a 10MM socket, remove the metric bolt from the battery hold down strap. Set the bolt aside to be reinstalled later.
2. Remove NINE pushpins from the top plastic of fascia. Set the cover and pushpins aside to be reinstalled later.
3. Using a 10MM socket, remove two metric bolts from the bottom of edge of the fascia, just forward of the front tires. Set bolts aside to be reinstalled later. Do this to both sides of the vehicle. Remove two pushpins from the lower edge of the fascia. Set push pins aside to be reinstalled later. Do this to both sides of the vehicle.
4. Using the 8MM socket, remove the metric bolts on the upper fascia corner. Set bolts aside to be reinstalled later. Do this to both sides of the vehicle. Pull the fascia forward and set carefully aside to be reinstalled later.
5. Using the 12MM socket remove two metric bolts from the top side of the frame and one metric bolt from the side of frame, see arrows in photo, both sides. Remove the metric bolt on the bottom with the 12MM socket, both sides, and remove metal bumper. Metal bumper will not be reinstalled.
