This bulletin supersedes the previous bulletin 01-032/06, issued on 10/12/2006. The APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/ VINS, DESCRIPTION, REPAIR PROCEDURE, and WARRANTY INFORMATION have been revised. Some vehicles equipped with a 3.0L engine may exhibit a ticking noise from the left bank cylinder head while the engine is running at normal operating temperature. Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure. Use the table below to select the correct repair for the applicable model.

Engine Controls - MIL ON/DTC P2025 Set Section Title: Engine TSB No. TS 07 12065 Division: Automotive Category: Technical SUBJECT: MIL ON DTC P2025 MODEL(S): AERIO (RH420) YEAR: 2003 CONDITION: In extreme cold climates, the MIL may be ON when the engine is started. The DTC P2025 will be stored in the ECM. CAUSE: ECM Software Logic CORRECTION: Using the appropriate service manual, verify the DTC using the troubleshooting chart. If no cause for the DTC is found, reprogram the ECM by using the instructions listed below. Then clear the DTC from the ECM memory.

leakage noise or lean codes and/or malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) on. The
cause may be a leak at the 0-ring on the intake manifold tuning (IMT) valve.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
2005 Lincoln LS vehicles equipped with a 3.0L 4V engine may exhibit a vacuum

The throttle actuator control (TAC) module contains a direct current actuator motor
controlled by the ECM used to move the throttle plate (in either direction) and two throttle
position sensors to determine throttle plate position. The throttle plate is held at a 7% rest
position to a mechanical stop by a constant force return spring. This spring will hold the
throttle plate to the stop when there is no current flowing to the actuator motor. There is
another return spring, which creates constant force on the throttle plate only when the
throttle plate is moved towards the full closed position. The ECM will monitor both the
actuator motor and TP sensors for circuit faults, as well as check to make sure both
springs can return the throttle to the 7% position no matter where the throttle plate
remains.

Some vehicles built between 5/1/2001 and 12/15/2003 may exhibit water in the
blower case or on the passenger side floor, an inoperative climate control blower
motor, a motor that operates on high speed only, and/or a blower motor resistor
failure.
ACTION
Inspect and seal cowl area and install Rain-Hat Extension Seal. Inspect and
replace blower motor and/or blower motor resistor if there is evidence of
water/corrosion. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.
