To remove the radio, the center dash panel surrounding the radio must be removed. There are three (3) phillips screws that secure this dash panel to the main dash assembly. However, (1) one of the screws is hidden behind the clock.
The clock unsnaps from the dash panel, but requires a very small flat head screwdriver or similar flat tool. Insert the tool into the side gap between the edge of the clock assembly and the dash panel. GENTLY, pry out that edge of the clock. Insert your fingers into the gap and pull firmly to completely remove the clock from the dash panel. Once the clock has been pulled out, unplug the plastic connector attached to the rear of the clock.

This tachometer is factory calibrated for 8 cylinder engines. For operation on 4 or 6 cylinder engines, a switch adjustment must be made.
1. Remove cup by placing the tachometer face down on a smooth surface. Remove the phillips screw on the back and gently lift the cup off to expose the circuit board. Take care
not to pull on the wires.
2. Locate the switch on the circuit board. Move each of the two switches to the proper cylinder selection according to the diagram illustration on the right.
4 Cyl.- Both switches down
6 Cyl.- Switch #1 down. Switch #2 up
8 Cyl.- Both switches up
3.Replace the case on the tach with mounting bracket at the bottom (make sure the wires are clear of the screw hole).
4. Replace the screw

Notice that all the shift arm and moving parts are located at the bottom of the column. This provides additional clearance at the firewall which allows the improved floor plate to make a perfect weather-tight seal (figure #15). With the column removed, you can see the difference in mounting points for the detent and shift arm.
