2007 Porsche 911 GT3 RS

With effect from October, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG of Stuttgart, Germany, will be launching the new 911 GT3 RS on the European market. This purist variant of the GT3 is particularly suited for use on the track. The GT3 RS is distinguished by its performance capability and the unadulterated driving experience enjoyed with a racing car, but also meets all requirements for road-legal sports cars.

The exceptionally meaty engine boasts a displacement of 3.6 liters to generate 305 kW (415 bhp) at 7,600 rpm. Maximum revs are reached at 8,400 rpm. The power output per liter of engine capacity is 115.3 bhp. These figures correspond to the present GT3. But the RS puts in an even better performance. Thanks to a close-ratio six-speed transmission with a single-mass flywheel and the 20 kg lower vehicle weight, the engine revs up even more freely, thus enabling the 911 GT3 to sprint from zero to 100 km per hour in 4.2 seconds. That's one tenth of a second faster than the GT3. It takes just 13.3 seconds to hit to 200 km per hour. Maximum speed is 310 km per hour.

2006 Z-Art Porsche Boxster

The Swiss tuning company Z-Art from Tägerwilen is revving up with a brand-new aerodynamics package for the Porsche Boxster model 986.

The aerodynamics package, which comprises the front bumper, side skirts, rear spoiler attachment and rear bumper, is made from GRP. The conversion is rounded off with GRP fenders and a GRP front hood in the original, round 987 look (different design of headlights) of the Boxster model year 2006. The front hood is also optionally available in carbon fiber. The complete package including the lamp cluster is available from Z-Art starting from 3,965 Euros net and is supplied complete with all the necessary accessories. Fitting costs around 1,300 Euros net, although this does not include the cost of respraying.

60 Years Volkswagen Van

A new high was also achieved in the Netherlands with 12,883 units. The number of vehicles sold in the UK increased by 2,900 to 31,105 and in sales in Belgium rose by 2,100 units to 9,289 vehicles.

The Sprinter Van series, which is produced in the German plants at Düsseldorf and Ludwigsfelde as well as in Argentina, made the largest contribution to total sales with 166,473 units sold (previous year: 165,916), thus continuing its success story. So many Sprinters have never before been delivered to customers.

2008 Volkswagen Golf Bluemotion

Volkswagen will be firing off the next salvo of its BlueMotion offensive at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt. In total, six new models with technology that is as economical as it is environmentally-friendly, will debut at the world’s largest car show. One of the highlights there: The new Golf BlueMotion. At just 4.5 litres of diesel per 100 km (62.8 mpg), its fuel consumption has been reduced by a full 0.6 litres compared to the original model. Similarly, CO2 emissions have been reduced from 135 g/km to 119 g/km. Actions taken on the BlueMotion make it so efficient that now distances of more than 1,200 km (745 miles) are possible on just one Golf tank of fuel (55 litres).

2009 Mercedes A Class Gets StreetPilot III

2006 TechArt Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet

The TechArt TA 096/T3 tuning kit boosts power output of the water-cooled 3.6-liter flat six engine from standard 420 hp / 309 kW to 600 hp / 441 kW. The conversion comprises two larger turbochargers and intercoolers, special aluminum intake manifolds, a sport air filter and the TechArt stainless-steel exhaust system with integrated high-performance catalysts. Newly programmed engine electronics ensure that all modifications work together flawlessly.

2007 Porsche Cayman

Following the successful market launch of the Cayman S in autumn 2005, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, is introducing the Cayman, a new version of the mid-engine sports coupé. Based on the Boxster series, the two-seater is powered by a six-cylinder boxer engine with an engine-capacity of 2.7 liters and developing an output of 245 bhp (180 kW). With its high and sustained propulsive power in the lower and medium speed ranges, the engine puts in an impressive performance. It has a top speed of 258 kilometers per hour. This sports car with manual transmission accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds. The Cayman is convincing proof of the fact that outstanding performance statistics do not necessarily mean high fuel consumption. According to European standards, it consumes on average only 9.3 liters per 100 kilometers.

The respected Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in the United States has named the Mercedes-Benz C-Class one of its Top Safety Picks for 2009 – the best reason to buy in terms of safety. The C-Class achieved good ratings in all the safety criteria which were examined.

Each year, the experts at the IIHS rate new vehicle models based on stringent safety criteria, thereby providing an important tool to help buyers make a decision. In the latest assessments, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class was subjected to front and side crash tests. The safety specialists in the USalso evaluated protection against neck injuries in rear impacts. For all three criteria, the C-Class was awarded top marks.

2003 Porshe Boxter S

With a 0-60 time of 5.7 seconds, the Boxster S is quite a quick roadster thanks to the 260bhp on tap from its 3.2 litre engine. Flexibility and practicality were the requirements stipulated by the Federal Police to the Mercedes-Benz product unit of EvoBus GmbH and the ServiceCenter for special-purpose vehicles. The Tourismo is the most suitable and cost-effective platform for realising different vehicle variants or vehicle lengths without modifying the vehicle concept. This is because it was developed on a modular basis, thereby ensuring the best possible adaptability and practicality when it comes to meeting customer requirements of all kinds.

2008 TechArt Porsche Cayenne

The TECHART Sport Module provides the option of lowering the SUV chassis by an impressive30 millimeters – which simplifies road use and makes it more attractive. The entire adjustment range from the load level to the special terrain level is roughly 110 millimeters.

2008 Volkswagen Touareg R50

Its power of 258 kW / 350 PS (at 3,500 rpm) positions the new Touareg version among the most powerful SUVs in the world. The engine characteristic of the Volkswagen Touareg R50 is marked by a torque level nearly unattainable by the competition: The V10 TDI of the Volkswagen Touareg R50 develops its enormous power of 850 Newton-meter at a low 2,000 rpm. The turbo diesel was derived from the well-known ten cylinder with 230 kW / 313 PS. Adjustments to its turbo charging and modified engine management enabled a 28 kW / 37 PS increase in power and a considerable 100 Newton-meter increase in maximum torque. Under these new parameters, the SUV accelerates to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds (production car: 7.4 seconds); its top speed is 235 km/h. In relation to engine power and vehicle size, the fuel consumption of the production ten-cylinder diesel equipped with a particulate filter is a moderate 9.6 liters per 100 km (highway) and 12.6 liters per 100 km (overall). Despite big gains in power and torque, its DIN fuel consumption values have remained constant compared to the Touareg V10 TDI.

2009 Maybach Landaulet 62S

Daimler added the Maybach Landaulet -- an open-top version of its Maybach 62 S -- to its lineup for 2009. Maybach will produce only a handful of the cars for a select few customers with exceptionally deep pockets.

True to the tradition of exclusive landaulets, the roof of the car can be opened fully at the rear, while the driver's compartment remains completely enclosed. The passengers are then able to enjoy the sky above.

Fuel cell of the Tiguan HyMotion develops system power of 80 kW In Shanghai, for the first time in the world Volkswagen is presenting a SUV prototype with a fuel cell: the Tiguan HyMotion . Compared to the recently introduced Touran HyMotion, performance of the fuel cell drive has been further improved, and its efficiency has been optimized. The fuel cell system with an output power of 80 kW was integrated in the Tiguan's engine compartment. The electric motor operates here too. It develops a maximum power of 100 kW. The top speed of the Tiguan HyMotion is 150 km/h; the prototype, weighing in at 1,870 kilograms, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in about 14 seconds. A lithium ion battery with a charge capacity of 6.8 Ampere-hours (Ah) serves as an auxiliary energy storage device. Its maximum power output is 22 kW. The battery is charged by recovered braking energy (recuperation) or by the fuel cell. The battery system is installed in the trunk, specifically beneath the dual cargo floor that can be ordered on the production Tiguan. The 700 bar hydrogen tank was integrated in the area beneath the rear bench seat and the cargo area. It can hold up to 3.2 kilograms of hydrogen (H2). The 2008 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is entering the 2008 motorsport season with engine output increased to 420 bhp. The car will be raced in the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup, the world's fastest international brand trophy, and worldwide in national Porsche Carrera Cups and GT3 Cup Challenges. 265 units of this production-based racing car developed in Weissach will be built on Porsche's production line in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, marking a new record for a car of this category. The most significant modification compared with last year's model is the new rear end following the design of the production model. Air venting slits ensure better dissipation of heat at the rear. The 3.6-litre six-cylinder boxer engine developed in Weissach is also based on the street-legal GT3 and develops maximum output of 420 bhp, 20 horsepower more than on the previous model. The sequential six-speed transmission with interruption of engine power enables the driver to shift up under full throttle without disengaging the clutch. The transmission itself has been optimised and the gear ratios adjusted to the characteristics of the engine. Weighing 1,150 kg in race trim, the 2008 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup has a power-to-weight ratio of 2.7 kg per horsepower.

The new C 63 AMG will be at the start as the official Safety Car for the second DTM race of the season in Oschersleben (April 19/20, 2008). 2008 Porsche GT3 Cup S Review

Porsche has added another member of the 911 family to its range of products. The new Porsche GT3 Cup S , based on the road-going GT3 RS sportscar, is created exclusively for racing purposes. The Weissach-developed and built vehicle will race in international champion-ships which run in accordance with FIA GT3 regulations. To a large extent, the 3.6-litre boxer engine is identical to the power unit used in the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup and the international Carrera Cup championships. Power output has increased by 20 horsepower to now 440 hp (324 kW) at 8,000 rpm. Maximum torque is up by ten Nm to 430 at 7,250 revs per minute. The power increase results from optimised engine electronics and a modified exhaust system.

2008 Volkswagen Tiguan R Line Update

The new Volkswagen Tiguan compact 4x4 is set to go on sale in February powered by a choice of advanced new TSI petrol and common rail diesel engines. Just ahead of its arrival in the UK Volkswagen Individual has unveiled the Tiguan R-Line design study at the Essen Motor Show – a subtly aggressive styling exercise demonstrating the potential for a range-topping Tiguan.

Established in 2003 and based in Wolfsburg, Individual is an engineering department wholly owned by Volkswagen and is responsible for special projects including the Golf R32 and the BlueMotion range of vehicles.

The Porsche Cars Great Britain Cayenne S Transsyberia was the first to reach Mongolia in 2007, and to build on this record, the UK will be represented by professional rally driver, Martin Rowe (37) from Deddington, Oxfordshire, who will be joined by fellow rally driver and automotive engineer, Richard Tuthill (34) also from Deddington, as co-driver and navigator.
