Removing And Installing Instrument Panel
Remove/Install
1 Remove instrument panel bottom section (1()
2 Remove A-pillar trim on left and right
3 Remove upper section of air outlet panel (1) Long wedge: See Special Tools below.
4 Unscrew screws (3) from upper side of instrument panel
5 Remove instrument cluster (A1 remove
6.1 Disconnect sun sensor connector
NOTE: Only as of 01.09.01: Connector is located behind instrument cluster

Camshaft locking tools – Alfa Romeo No.1.825.041.000
Inlet camshaft holding tool – Alfa Romeo No.1.822.155.000
Exhaust camshaft holding tool – Alfa Romeo No.1.822.146.000
Timing Belt tensioning tool – Alfa Romeo No.1.822.149.000
Balancer shaft belt tensioning tool – Alfa Romeo No.1.822.154.000
Special Precautions
Disconnect battery earth lead
DO NOT turn crackshaft or camshaft when timing belt removed
Remove spark plugs to ease turning engine
Turn engine in normal direction of rotation
DO NOT turn engine via camshaft or other sprockets
Observe all tightening torques.
Camshaft locking tools – Alfa Romeo No.1.825.041.000
Inlet camshaft holding tool – Alfa Romeo No.1.822.155.000
Exhaust camshaft holding tool – Alfa Romeo No.1.822.146.000
Timing Belt tensioning tool – Alfa Romeo No.1.822.149.000
Balancer shaft belt tensioning tool – Alfa Romeo No.1.822.154.000
Special Precautions
Disconnect battery earth lead
DO NOT turn crackshaft or camshaft when timing belt removed
Remove spark plugs to ease turning engine
Turn engine in normal direction of rotation
DO NOT turn engine via camshaft or other sprockets
