Installing Distributor:
1. Remove the existing distributor cap without disconnecting any of the spark plug wires.
2. With the cap off, crank the engine until the rotor is aimed at a fixed point on the engine or firewall. Note this position by making a mark (Figure 9).

The terminals of this Distributor require spark plug style terminals. You may need to change the terminals and boots of your wires. MSD offers two kits, PN 8849 or PN 8848 that are supplied with nine boots and terminals.
Note: If the Chevy gear is ever replaced, MSD Gear, PN 8561, is required for replacement due to the 500" diameter shaft.

A Crank Trigger must be used with this distributor. An MSD Billet Hold-Down Clamp, PN 8110, is recommended.

2001 ENGINE PERFORMANCE' 'Basic Diagnostic Procedures Ignition Coil Test (Accord 2.3L & CR-V)
1. Turn ignition off. Remove distributor cap, rotor and leak cover. Remove primary leads from ignition coil. Using an ohmmeter, check primary resistance between ignition coil terminals "A+" and "B-". See Fig. 12 . Resistance should be as specified. See IGNITION COIL RESISTANCE table. 2. Check secondary resistance between ignition coil terminal "A+" and secondary output terminal (ignition coil tower). See IGNITION COIL RESISTANCE table. If readings are not as specified, replace ignition coil.
