Like any rotating asset that’s driven hard, TXTs eventually wear out. These reducers operate in harsh conditions with airborne contaminants and there’s typically no time for preventive maintenance. Seals tend to go first, leaking oil. Once they fail, then bearings, gears and hubs follow.
